The Big Cleanse

The first thing you need to know about this therapeutic cleanse diet is that it is designed to Cleanse the body…clean out the intestines, the kidneys, the liver and give the body a little bit of a break.

The diet is designed for short period of time, this is not a diet meant for every day living or weight loss, although it’s a proven fact that those who eat fruits and vegetables and those that eat a raw fruits and vegetable diet, live longer healthier lives.

The reason why I’ve chosen Jamba and adjusted this diet to Jamba is because most Americans shop in excess. There is too much Processed food in the house, and so absent-minded eating occurs, which causes not only weight gain, but can cause some other side effects as well. Most people don’t realize what they are eating unless they write it down…most people don’t know they are dehydrated until they actually start drinking water.

A cleansing diet is a pretty easy diet to follow…because it is in short bursts.

Why a 1 day, a 3 day or a 30 day?

A 1 day cleanse is great for in the middle of the week, it’s a daily maintenance thing for blood and stomach, more for giving your body a break in the middle of the week from stress and bad diet.

A 3 day cleanse is the monthly break that cleanse or maintains the intestines and goes a little deeper then just the surface…it helps your digestive system and can help improve your skin.

A 30 day cleanse is something you would do every 6 months out of the year, or after a bad illness or injury. This gives your organs a break from processing synthetic medications, antibiotics, high stress, being out of the country and dealing with foreign foods or cleanses your body from bad eating habits, processes foods, alcohol, tobacco or recreational drugs.

Why Jamba??

Because Jamba uses fresh ingredients and you can request ingredients to match your pallet. You can get whole fruit, which adds more fiber and gently cleanse your intestines. You get better nutritional supplementation with their boosts and you can adjust what you order to make it either a snack or a meal. The stores always smell like fresh carrots, or oranges or even wheat grass…which just makes my body feel better.

Because this is a Therapeutic diet and for cleansing…I am not going to make issues with weight loss, body type or calories. I will however, make reference to exercise…in order to complete the cleanse, there has to be an oxygen exchange in order to clean out the lungs and the blood as well.

To really take advantage of this Therapeutic Diet at home, I recommend the book, “Jamba Juice Power” by Kirk Perron.  He has many recipes and hints that will help in this process.

Also a note: For parents looking for better treats and snacks for their kids…

Did you know that you can take anything from the above menu, without the dairy added, put it in a Power Size, take it home. Get out a cookie sheet and cover the bottom with wax paper, pour the Jamba onto the wax paper and put that in your oven at a low heat for 4 to 6 hours. This makes a wonderful Fruit Leather. You don’t have much to clean up, it’s a healthy treat for your kids and Jamba does all the work!  You can also take a power sized smoothie, any smoothie from Jamba, take paper cups, about 6 oz, put a popsicle stick in it and freeze, you have a great popsicle filled with nutrition and easy for the kids to just pull out of the freezer!

The Yogurt and Fruit Blends I recommend for Breakfasts when you are not in the mood for their Steel cut oats…if you want your kids to have a really good breakfast, with probiotics and fiber, I would suggest taking the steel cut oats, buying a large Yogurt and Fruit Blend, buying the Steel Cut Oats in the small size and putting into the large container (they will do that), and then adding the yogurt blends instead of the toppers…just for variety…it gives you added toppings and flavors to your breakfasts, and added probiotics as well as the fiber to the oats!

Did you know that you can also add your Jamba Juice onto whole Wheat Pancakes for a healthier syrup???

Did you know that you can add Jamba Juice…especially the Pomegranate based Jamba’s over Spinach Salads and Spring Mix Salads with chunks of fruit for a healthier salad dressing????
